DSLR Remote Pro for Windows version 2.4.1 issues June 2013

There has been an unexpected problem running a version of DSLR Remote Pro for Windows which was released in May 2012. Running DSLR Remote Pro for Windows version 2.4.1 on or after Saturday June 1, 2013 may result in an "Invalid registration code" error message like the one shown below:


How do I check whether I am affected?
Start your copy of DSLR Remote Pro for Windows and check the version number displayed in the splashscreen displayed at startup. If this displays "loading DSLR Remote Pro v2.4.1..." as shown below you need to upgrade to a newer release.


If you didn't have time to read the splash screen simply exit DSLR Remote Pro for Windows and run it again.

What should I do if I am running DSLR Remote Pro for Windows 2.4.1?
If you are using DSLR Remote Pro for Windows 2.4.1 you should upgrade to a different version of DSLR Remote Pro for Windows right away. Any user who is eligible to run DSLR Remote Pro for Windows 2.4.1 is also eligible to run DSLR Remote Pro for Windows 2.4.2 and can upgrade free of charge:

What should I do if I am not using DSLR Remote Pro for Windows 2.4.1?
You need take no action, you are not affected.

Will I have to pay for this?
No, anyone with a valid license who is eligible to run DSLR Remote Pro for Windows 2.4.1 can upgrade to DSLR Remote Pro for Windows 2.4.2 free of charge and does not need to buy an upgrade license.

Can I upgrade to the latest release?
Yes, but you may need to purchase an upgrade to use the latest version. You are entitled to one year's free upgrades from the date of purchase. This means you can upgrade to any version of DSLR Remote Pro released within one year of the date you purchased your license for free. If your license was purchased more than a year ago you may need to purchase an upgrade license to use the latest version. Please see the upgrades page for more information.

No, this problem only affects one old release of DSLR Remote Pro for Windows i.e. version 2.4.1. Other versions of DSLR Remote Pro for Windows and other Breeze software are not affected.
